PON All Light Expressway Solution
1、Overview
With the continuous development of modern transportation industry, the important role of expressways in China's transportation industry is gradually becoming apparent. The communication system is the "central nervous system" of the electromechanical system of expressways. As an information base, it provides channels for the accurate and timely transmission of data, voice, and image information from monitoring systems and toll collection systems, ensuring smooth business communication between various management departments of expressways, and providing technical support and guarantee for communication between internal departments and external organizations of expressways.
Characteristics of Expressway Communication Network Access:
1. The video monitoring points on highways are encrypted, and the demand for communication network bandwidth is increasing exponentially. It has the characteristics of high traffic flow, fast driving speed, and high design standards;
2. The network carries core services such as charging and video monitoring, and the network needs to ensure security and reliability;
3. Frequent geological disasters, frequent faults, difficult positioning, and high maintenance costs.
In response to the special characteristics of the above highway network, Haishuo proposes a PON all optical highway solution. Firstly, the highway monitoring system mainly consists of full monitoring along the road, tunnel monitoring, toll station monitoring, service area monitoring, etc. The transmission medium of the system is optical fiber laid along the line. So in the highway video monitoring system, we adopt a PON scheme with a transmission distance of up to 20km (the maximum transmission distance between ONU and OLT is 20km) as the transmission platform of the monitoring system. There are multiple OLT devices installed at the communication station of the highway company, and then the OLT devices connect to the monitoring system along the line through multiple PON ports.
2、Plan diagram
In order to save fiber optic resources, monitoring along the route generally adopts a 10:90 stepwise splitting method. Meanwhile, due to the scattered monitoring points along the highway company, such as in tunnels, one monitoring point is usually set every 200m. Therefore, one ONU device is generally connected to one monitoring channel, and the ONU device is interconnected with the encoder of the video monitoring system through Ethernet. Meanwhile, using an encoder with ONU function can reduce single point of equipment failure and improve system reliability. At the communication station, OLT devices are connected to the transmission platform of the highway through Ethernet, thereby achieving communication with the monitoring platform of the communication center. PON technology can use a tree shaped linear network connection, with passive light splitting between nodes. At the same time, it provides a bandwidth of up to 1 Gbps, making it very suitable for network transmission of highway video monitoring systems.
